Very happy with the service from RJT Plumbing & Gas Solutions. They attended to investigate unusually high LPG usage, installed a proper test point, pressure-tested the gas system, checked for leaks, adjusted the LPG regulator to the correct pressure and inspected the hot-water system. Everything was checked thoroughly and explained clearly, and it was reassuring to have the system properly tested and confirmed safe with no faults identified. Professional, knowledgeable and easy to deal with. I would happily recommend RJT Plumbing & Gas Solutions and use them again.

Bathroom Plumbing

Your bathroom is one of the most frequently used areas in your home, so when something goes wrong, it usually becomes a problem quickly.

A leaking toilet, blocked shower drain, dripping tap, unpleasant bathroom odour or poor water pressure can cause frustration, wasted water and potential damage if left too long.

At RJT Plumbing & Gas Solutions, we provide practical bathroom plumbing repairs, replacements and installation support for homeowners who need the issue assessed properly and fixed correctly.

Whether it is a minor repair, a recurring problem or plumbing work as part of a bathroom renovation, our team can help identify the cause and recommend the most cost-effective solution.

Bathroom Plumbing Services We Provide

Bathroom plumbing covers more than just taps and toilets.

We can assist with:

  • leaking bathroom taps
  • shower plumbing repairs
  • toilet repairs and replacements
  • blocked shower drains
  • vanity and basin plumbing
  • bathroom pipework repairs
  • leaking toilets
  • mixer tap replacement
  • waste and drainage issues
  • bathroom odour problems
  • water pressure issues
  • isolation valve replacement
  • bathroom renovation plumbing
  • hot and cold water pipework
  • compliance checks for bathroom plumbing work

Some bathroom plumbing issues are obvious straight away. Others build slowly over time and only become noticeable once water damage, smells, slow drainage or pressure issues appear.

Getting the problem checked early can help prevent larger repairs later.

Leaking Toilets and Toilet Repairs

A leaking toilet is one of the most common bathroom plumbing issues.

Sometimes the leak is visible around the base of the toilet. Other times, the leak may be internal, causing the cistern to keep refilling and wasting water without the homeowner realising.

Common signs of a toilet plumbing issue include:

  • water around the base of the toilet
  • cistern constantly refilling
  • toilet not flushing properly
  • water running into the bowl
  • movement in the toilet pan
  • bad smells around the toilet
  • staining or dampness near the toilet
  • repeated flushing problems

A leaking toilet should not be ignored. Even a small leak can lead to water damage over time, especially where flooring, walls and cabinetry are exposed to moisture.

RJT Plumbing & Gas Solutions can inspect the issue, identify the cause and advise whether repair or replacement is the better long-term option.

Shower Plumbing Repairs

Shower problems can affect comfort, water usage and the overall condition of your bathroom.

We help with shower plumbing issues such as:

  • low shower pressure
  • leaking shower mixers
  • inconsistent hot water
  • poor hot water delivery
  • blocked shower drains
  • slow drainage
  • noisy pipework
  • worn fittings or connections
  • water pooling around the drain

A slow shower drain may seem minor at first, but it can point to hair, soap, debris or deeper drainage restrictions building up in the pipework.

If your shower is draining slowly, smelling unpleasant or backing up, it is worth having the issue assessed before the blockage becomes worse.

Bathroom Tap and Mixer Repairs

Dripping bathroom taps are easy to ignore, but they can waste a surprising amount of water over time.

Bathroom taps and mixers wear down through daily use. Seals, cartridges, washers and internal components can fail, leading to leaks, stiffness, poor control or inconsistent water flow.

We can help with:

  • dripping bathroom taps
  • leaking mixer taps
  • stiff or hard-to-turn taps
  • tap replacement
  • basin mixer upgrades
  • noisy tap issues
  • poor flow from bathroom fixtures

In some cases, repairing the existing fitting makes sense. In others, replacement may provide better reliability, improved function and a cleaner finish.

Blocked Bathroom Drains

Bathroom drains deal with soap, hair, toothpaste, shaving products and general build-up every day.

Over time, this can restrict the drain and cause water to empty slowly or back up into the shower, basin or floor waste.

Signs of a bathroom drainage problem include:

  • slow draining showers
  • water pooling around the drain
  • gurgling sounds
  • unpleasant odours
  • water backing up
  • repeated blockages
  • wet areas around bathroom fixtures

Blocked bathroom drains should be assessed properly, especially if the issue keeps coming back.

Recurring blockages can indicate a deeper drainage problem rather than a simple surface-level restriction.

Bathroom Odours and Drainage Smells

Bad smells in the bathroom are not always caused by poor cleaning.

In many cases, bathroom odours come from plumbing or drainage issues.

Common causes can include:

  • dry floor waste traps
  • faulty seals
  • poor drain ventilation
  • leaking toilet connections
  • waste pipe issues
  • blocked or partially blocked drains
  • incorrect drainage setup

If a bathroom smell keeps returning after cleaning, the plumbing should be inspected.

RJT Plumbing & Gas Solutions can help identify the source of the odour and recommend the right plumbing solution.

Bathroom Leak Repairs

Bathroom leaks can be difficult to diagnose because water may travel behind walls, under flooring or through cabinetry before it becomes visible.

Common signs of a bathroom leak include:

  • damp smells
  • water marks
  • bubbling paint
  • swollen cabinetry
  • loose flooring
  • mould growth
  • water pooling near fixtures
  • unexplained increases in water usage

Leaks should be investigated early. The longer water is allowed to sit behind finished surfaces, the more damage it can cause.

A proper plumbing assessment helps identify whether the issue is coming from a fixture, pipework, toilet connection, tapware, waste line or another source.

Vanity and Basin Plumbing

Vanities and basins rely on correctly installed water supply and waste connections.

We can assist with:

  • leaking vanity plumbing
  • basin tap repairs
  • basin mixer replacement
  • waste trap issues
  • blocked basin drains
  • pipework under the vanity
  • isolation valve replacement
  • new vanity plumbing connections

Poorly installed or ageing vanity plumbing can lead to leaks inside cabinetry, water damage and recurring smells.

If you notice moisture, swelling, odours or slow drainage around the vanity, it is worth getting the plumbing checked.

Bathroom Renovation Plumbing

Bathroom renovations need properly planned plumbing before fixtures, cabinetry and finishes are installed.

Bathroom renovation plumbing may involve:

  • relocating water points
  • relocating waste points
  • installing new shower plumbing
  • vanity and basin plumbing
  • toilet installation
  • mixer and tap installation
  • pipework upgrades
  • drainage changes
  • fixture connection
  • compliance checks

Getting the plumbing right during a renovation is critical.

Poor planning can lead to drainage problems, poor fixture placement, leaks, low pressure or expensive changes later in the project.

RJT Plumbing & Gas Solutions can work with homeowners, builders and renovators to ensure bathroom plumbing is installed correctly and suited to the layout.

Why Bathroom Plumbing Should Be Handled Properly

Bathrooms combine water, drainage, pressure, moisture and building finishes in one area.

That means small plumbing problems can lead to larger issues if they are not handled correctly.

Poor bathroom plumbing can contribute to:

  • water damage
  • mould issues
  • damaged cabinetry
  • damaged flooring
  • recurring leaks
  • drainage smells
  • poor water pressure
  • fixture failure
  • unnecessary repair costs

A proper assessment helps identify whether the issue is isolated or part of a larger plumbing problem.
