North Lakes Plumbing
North Lakes is a vibrant, rapidly growing suburb in the Moreton Bay Region, known for its family-friendly environment, beautiful parks, and modern amenities. With a mix of new developments and established homes, North Lakes offers a great lifestyle, but like any area, it has its unique set of plumbing challenges.
Common Plumbing Issues in North Lakes
Due to its mix of older homes and new builds, residents in North Lakes can experience a variety of plumbing problems. Here are some of the most common issues reported by homeowners in the area:
- Blocked Drains: Given the leafy surroundings of North Lakes, blocked drains caused by tree roots are a frequent issue. As trees grow, their roots can invade pipes, causing blockages and even pipe damage.
- Leaking Taps and Toilets: Leaking taps and toilets are common in both older and newer homes. While they might seem minor, they can lead to significant water waste and increased bills.
- Hot Water System Failures: With the mix of new and older homes, hot water systems can vary in age, leading to potential failures, particularly in older units that haven't been serviced regularly.
- Low Water Pressure: Some residents report issues with low water pressure, which can be frustrating and indicative of underlying problems in the plumbing system.
How to Prevent Plumbing Problems
While plumbing issues can be inconvenient, there are steps you can take to minimise the risk:
- Regular Maintenance: Scheduling regular plumbing inspections can help catch small issues before they turn into costly repairs.
- Be Mindful of What Goes Down the Drain: Avoid flushing wipes, grease, or large food particles down the drain to reduce the risk of blockages.
- Insulate Pipes: Protect your pipes from temperature fluctuations, which can cause them to expand and contract, leading to leaks.

Very happy with the service from RJT Plumbing & Gas Solutions. They attended to investigate unusually high LPG usage, installed a proper test point, pressure-tested the gas system, checked for leaks, adjusted the LPG regulator to the correct pressure and inspected the hot-water system.
Everything was checked thoroughly and explained clearly, and it was reassuring to have the system properly tested and confirmed safe with no faults identified. Professional, knowledgeable and easy to deal with. I would happily recommend RJT Plumbing & Gas Solutions and use them again.

Reece is genuinely one of the best tradies I’ve ever met in my life. I chose him to replace my old hot water system because of his perfect 5‑star reviews, and now I completely understand why. I wish I could give him 5000 stars!
His workmanship was impeccable, and I really appreciated his confidence, clear explanations, and willingness to answer every question I threw at him. He kept the area tidy as he worked and was happy to chat while walking me through each step.
What surprised me most was that our conversation drifted into life in general, and he shared some genuinely meaningful advice. He’s not just a skilled plumber. He’s a thoughtful, grounded person who’d probably make a great counsellor too.
Reece is now my go‑to for any plumbing work, and I’ll happily recommend him to anyone who needs a reliable, honest professional.

Thanks for coming out to fix my stormwater tank issue, Reece! I really appreciate your prompt visit, thorough investigation, and getting it all sorted in just a couple of hours. I'm incredibly happy with the quality of work that you did. Reece was highly practical, proposing an easy and cost-effective solution for a complex problem that could have easily cost me a lot more if someone wanted to take advantage of the situation. To top it off, he left the area spotlessly clean—you couldn't even tell any major work had been done. Highly recommend RTJ Plumbing & Gas Solutions!"

Our hot water system needed replacing as it was very old, and I was looking at all the options and was still unsure which direction to go (solar, electric, gas, heat pump). I called RJT Plumbing and Reece was very professional, informative, and helpful in helping me decide. I found Reese to be very friendly, and easy to communicate with. Reece explained the differences, and even discussed with me different options, operating life, and costs. In the end I decided on an electric hot water system and booked in the job. During installation Reece's work was very impressive, and professional. The clean up afterwards was also very good. After installation, Reece explained what I needed to know about my new hot water system, and what I needed to do as basic maintenance for the system throughout the year.
I am very impressed with Reece's work, and would highly recommend Reece, and RJT Plumbing & Gas Solutions.

He invoiced promptly with a comprehensive description of work undertaken. This was our first experience with Reece and his services. It won't be our last and would recommend his services.

Reece has done a great job at a great price. I had a quote from another plumbing firm for exactly the same system that was double the price. To top it off he went out of his way to make sure he had the correct cylinder to install at the time he had promised. I can't recommend him more highly.
